#BringBackOurGirls: France Offers Nigeria ‘Special Team’ To Help Rescue Missing Girls

PARIS (AFP) – France on Wednesday
offered Nigeria a “special team” to look
for more than 200 girls kidnapped by
Islamist militant group Boko Haram in an
incident that has triggered global shock
and condemnation.
The extremists seized a first batch of
schoolgirls in Nigeria’s restive northeast
three weeks ago, saying they were holding
them as “slaves” and threatening to sell
them, and have since kidnapped other
girls in the area.
“A special team with all our resources in
the region is at the disposal of Nigeria to
help in the search and recovery of these
young girls,” French Foreign Minister
Laurent Fabius told parliament.
President Francois Hollande is due to
hold phone talks with his Nigerian
counterpart Goodluck Jonathan on the
subject on Wednesday evening, sources
close to the French leader said.
France already has troops on the ground
in Mali not far away, where they continue
to engage in intelligence gathering to
further weaken armed Islamists in the
north after driving them out of towns they
had occupied
for months.
“The president gave the defence minister
and myself the order… to put our
(intelligence) services at the disposal of
Nigeria and neighbouring countries,”
Fabius said.
Described as “heartbreaking” and
“outrageous” by US President Barack
Obama on Tuesday, the kidnappings have
drawn several pledges of help from the
international community.
Washington has deployed military experts
to Nigeria to help search for the girls and
Britain has offered unspecified practical
help.
Earlier Wednesday, French government
spokesman Stephane Le Foll denounced
the kidnappings as “one of the most
atrocious forms of terrorism because it
involves kidnapping and trafficking
children.”
His comments came as Boko Haram this
week kidnapped another 11 girls from a
village in Borno state, the epicentre of the
group’s five-year Islamist uprising.
And on Wednesday, witnesses and a local
senator said the extremist group had
staged a bloody attack in the
northeastern town of Gamboru Ngala,
firing on fleeing civilians and killing
hundreds.

Brief History of Nigerian Boko haram Leader "Abubakar Shekau

Abubakar Shekau is the leader of the
militant Islamist group Boko Haram,
which has carried out a series of deadly
attacks across northern Nigeria.
Abdullahi Tasiu Abubakar from the BBC
Hausa service looks at Nigeria's most
wanted man, who has been designated
a terrorist by the US government.
The leader of the militant Islamist group
Boko Haram is said to be a fearless loner,
a complex, paradoxical man - part
intellectual, part gangster.
Fondly called imam or leader by his
followers, Abubakar Muhammad Shekau
was born in Shekau village in Nigeria's
north-eastern state of Yobe.
Some say he is 35 or 36, others that he
may be 44 - the uncertainty adds to the
myths surrounding Nigeria's most wanted
man.
The US government has offered a reward
of up to $7m (£4.6m) for information
about his location .
Radical theology student
Mr Shekau was once thought to have been
killed by security forces in 2009 - only for
him to reappear in videos posted on the
internet less than a year later as Boko
Haram's new leader.
The group's founder, Muhammad Yusuf
died in police custody, and hundreds of
others were killed during that massive
crackdown - which many blame for making
the group even more violent.
Mr Shekau has not been seen in public
since.
Instead, still images and video clips of him
are released from time to time, mostly
online, by the group's faceless "public
enlightenment department".
Mr Shekau is said to have met his
predecessor in Maiduguri, capital of Borno
state, and now Boko Haram's
headquarters, through a mutual friend,
Mamman Nur.
Nigeria's authorities say Mr Nur
masterminded the August 2011 bombing of
the UN office complex in Nigeria's capital,
Abuja.
All three were theology students - and Mr
Shekau was seen as the quietest and
perhaps the most radical of them.
"He hardly talks, he is fearless," says
Ahmed Salkida, a journalist with such good
access to Boko Haram that, at one stage,
he was suspected of being a member.
Under Mr Shekau, Boko Haram has
become more radical and carried out more
killings
He says he only escaped summary
execution by Maiduguri police after an
intelligence officer intervened.
"He is one of those who believes that you
can sacrifice anything for your belief," Mr
Salkida says.
Mr Shekau is fluent in his native Kanuri,
Hausa and Arabic languages - he does not
speak English.
"I used to joke with him that he should
teach me Arabic and I would teach him
English," Mr Salkida says.
When Mr Yusuf was killed, Mr Shekau is
said to have married one of his four wives
and adopted their children - perhaps, say
sources who do not want to be named, to
preserve Boko Haram's cohesion or
"purity".
'Chilling message'
The group has a highly decentralised
structure - the unifying force is ideology.
Mr Shekau does not communicate directly
with the group's foot soldiers - he is said
to wield his power through a few select
cell leaders, but even then contact is
minimal.
"A lot of those calling themselves leaders
in the group do not even have contact with
him," Mr Salkida says.
Mr Shekau has neither the charismatic
streak nor the oratorical skills of his
predecessor - but he has an intense
ideological commitment and ruthlessness,
say people who study the group.
"He is the leader of the more militant wing
of the group as testified by his aping of
Osama Bin Laden in his video
appearances," says Abubakar Mu'azu from
the University of Maiduguri.
Mr Shekau issued a chilling message in
one of those appearances - which
provides a major insight into what his
leadership of the group will bring.
"I enjoy killing anyone that God commands
me to kill - the way I enjoy killing chickens
and rams," he said in the video clip
released just after Boko Haram had carried
out its deadliest attack in so far in January
2012, killing more than 180 people in
Kano, northern Nigeria's largest city.
Mr Shekau is also the group's spiritual
leader - and, judging by video footage, he
seems equally comfortable delivering
sermons to his followers.
"He has a photographic memory and is
well versed in theology," Mr Salkida said.
He is nicknamed "Darul Tawheed", which
translates as a specialist in Tawheed. This
is an orthodox doctrine of the uniqueness
and oneness of Allah, which is the very
cornerstone of Islam.
But Nigeria's mainstream Muslim clerics do
not regard Mr Shekau as a scholar and
question his understanding of Islam - and
regularly condemn the bombings and
drive-by shootings committed by his
followers against anyone who disagrees
with them.

SEE Recent Photos Of Nollywood Actress Ngozi Ezeonu

The beautiful Nollywood actress has
transformed into a sweet sixteen after
losing massive weight recently. She now
looks hotter, younger and cuter.

Reason Why I Exposed My B00bs At The Restaurant –– Nollywood Actress Jesse Nazareth Reveals

Guys we now have a confirmed 'I don't
give a damn' babe in Nollywood and the
first strange thing is her name – she's
known as Nazareth Jesse Bako. Sounds
strange abi? Anyway, here's what she has
to say:
I'm an actress. I am the firstborn from a
family of eight. I am Gwari from Kuje Area
Council, in Abuja. I was born in
Jerusalem, but I was brought up in Bida
town, Niger State. I attended the
University of Abuja where I studied
Economics, but I had my OND in Business
Admin at Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
Growing up, things were difficult for me
because I had this belief that flashy things
were sinful until I realised that everything
was created by God for us to profit from.
As an actress, can you act nudé?
I'd go any length to act nudé, as long as
it goes with my terms. It would be
between me and my employer.
The craziest stunt you ever pulled?
That would be showing off my breast in a
restaurant. It was a bet of truth and
dare...
Your journey into acting
Making it into the industry was just God’s
grace. I started acting professionally in
2006, when I was still in school, but I got
into the industry in 2001. I had passion
for acting but I decided that when I was
done with schooling, I would get a job.
But after several applications and I
couldn’t get a job, I decided to remain in
show business. I got into Nollywood
when I met a super star whom I told I
loved to act. If I spent those years in
school acting, I would have been in
Hollywood by now. But I still love to
practise my profession. If there is a
vacancy anywhere in the world, I am
ready to go.
Competition
I am in no competition with anyone. It is
fine if any artiste gets to the limelight
before me. If I get there before any one, I
will wish them good luck. The sky is wide
for everyone to fly. I try to mind my
business, and for the fact that I am based
in Abuja, I see less of some actors.
Parental support
My parents are the best. Initially, they
didn’t like the idea because of the
impression people had about the industry
especially about sexual harassment. Since
they want me to be happy, they realised
they could not stop me because people
kept telling them they saw their daughter
on television.
Personality
I cannot really tell the mind of people but
I guess some see me as a controversial
person, while others see me as an
innocent girl. I am just one lovely person
who appreciates people no matter their
belief and nature.
Relationship
Frank Artus, a Ghanaian actor, and I are
friends but we are not dating each other.
One guy kept seeing my display profile on
Blackberry Messenger and asked if I was
crazy about him, and I said yes, because
he is kind-hearted. I am single and
waiting for the right man that God has
ordained for me.
Your Ideal man
My ideal man is someone who has the
fear of God; someone who is caring and
romantic. Above all, he must be well-to-
do; he must have achieved what it takes
to face responsibility of matrimony. I like
my man to be mature, presentable in
terms of speech, dressing and looks. He
must be intelligent too.

I Suffered For Refusing 'Ghana Must Go' Bag Full Of Money From Nigerian Politicians" -- Nollywood Actress, Omotola

Omotola Ekeinde has said she has
suffered enough for refusing to party with
politicians and turning down their Ghana
must go bags, and begged people not to
make her suffer the more by mentioning
her name among those who wine and
dine with politicians.
Speaking as a guest at the just concluded
Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NEC),
the actress said; “Somebody on a blog a
few days ago wrote that there are
Nollywood personalities who are friends
with politicians, sharing the national cake
together.
I, Omotola, have never campaigned
or partied with any government, so
don’t mention my name among
those who do that. I have suffered
enough for refusing to party with
them and take ‘Ghana Must Go’
back home, so don’t let me suffer
more.”

STOP Using Chloroquine, Artesunate For Malaria Treatment – WHO Warn Nigerians

The World Health Organisation had
placed a global ban on the use of
chloroquine and Artesunate in 2005.
Nigerians have been advised against the
use of Chloroquine and Artesunate for
the treatment of malaria.
Nnenna Ezeigwe, National Coordinator,
National Malaria Control Programme,
gave the advice in an interview with the
News Agency of Nigeria on Friday in
Abuja.
She, however, recommended that people
should take only Artemisinin Combination
Therapy, ACTs, when they test positive for
malaria.
“If your test result is positive, take only
Artemisinin Combination Therapy (ACTs).
Do not treat malaria with chloroquine,
artesunate or other monotherapies.
“The ACT with green leaf is good quality
and affordable; Ask for it,’’ she said.
When contacted, Adeline Osakwe, Deputy
Director, Pharmacovigilance, Food and
Drugs Information Centre, NAFDAC, said
the use of chloroquine and artesunate in
Nigeria was being gradually phased out.
“Since 2005, the use of monotherapies
such as Artesunate, Chloroquine had
been discouraged in favour of
Aretmisinin Combination Therapy (ACT)
for uncomplicated malaria.
“These ACTs include Arthemeter/
Lumenfantrine, Artesunate/Amodiaquine,
and other registered ones. Ms. Osakwe
said that the monotherapies are gradually
being phased out by not registering new
ones and not renewing those that their
licenses had expired.”
The World Health Organisation, WHO, had
placed a global ban on the use of
chloroquine and Artesunate in 2005.
Speaking on the World Malaria Day
celebration, Ms. Ezeigwe advised
pregnant women to register early for
ante-natal care in order to receive
preventive treatment against the disease.
“Expectant mothers should demand for
preventive treatment, `Intermittent
Preventive Treatment in Pregnancy (IPTp)’
during ante-natal visits from 16 weeks of
pregnancy,’’ she said.
She said that the Federal Government and
Roll Back Malaria partners had over the
last decade committed huge resources to
ensure that malaria was brought under
control.
She said that the efforts had led to a
reduction in malaria prevalence by more
than eight per cent, adding that much
more needed to be done.
Ms. Ezeigwe called on the private sector,
the media, and the academia to play
active roles in the fight against Malaria.
“It is only working together that we can
end the needless suffering and deaths
caused by Malaria.
“Keep your environment clean and free of
puddles, and always sleep inside long
lasting insecticide treated nets.
“Wear protective clothing against
mosquitoes when necessary, and always
get tested before you treat for Malaria,’’
she said.

Fan Tries To Rape Nollywood Actress Angela Okorie In South Africa?

I got plenty mails from some guys in
South Africa who wanted me to expose
Angela Okorie as a thief. They sent me
pics, police phone numbers, details of
what supposedly happened over there
but I didn't touch the story because I
suspected they were just trying to mess
this lady up...and according to her own
version of things, that's exactly what
happened.
Actress Angela Okorie was arrested and
detained for a day in South Africa last
weekend for allegedly stealing $3,200
from a friend's home. Reacting to the
story to Yes! Magazine, Angela says it was
all blackmail from a friend/fan named
Prosper, whose sexual advances she
turned down and whose stock in trade is
to extort money from Nigerians who go to
South Africa for project. Find her account
of what happened after the cut...
Angela tells Yes Magazine...
"I left Nigeria for South Africa to shoot my
movie, Nwa Abakaliki in South Africa on
Monday April 7 2014 with Prince Ekeh,
Muma Gee's husband. I paid for his flight
and accommodation from Port Harcourt
to Lagos and from Lagos to South Africa.
Then at a point, I decided to move to a
hotel so as to give him space and a friend
of mine called M.K said I should come
over to her place at North Gate Estate
where I can pay less for my
accommodation because she has a 3
bedroom flat. So I moved in and met a
friend of mine called Prosper who is
actually one of my biggest fans in her
place. But he was also living in a separate
room with the lady. As time went on, this
guy started disturbing me for sex. He said
he liked me and would not mind having
an affair with me. But I told him I am
married with a child but he would not let
me be. It got to a stage he went to hire a
car to take me around so as to aid my
production but I never gave in to his
demand for sex. Then on good Friday,
April 18th, I was in my room and didn't
bother locking my room door.
Prosper came in and tried to rape me but
I told him that I am ready to kill and go to
jail if he ever tried it. After much sweet
words and threats, he left me alone and I
moved out of the house to Hilton Hotel,
Sandton that day. On Sunday, April 19th,
Prince Eke called me that Prosper and
some people were coming to meet me at
the hotel and I said no problem. Unknown
to me, he was coming with about three
policemen. I opened the door for them
but to my greatest surprise, Prosper said
that I stole his 32,000rand which is about
$3,200. I was surprised because that to
me is ridiculous. How can I steal such
money when I paid for Prince Ekeh's flight
and accommodation which amounts to
about $4,000 dollars, not to talk of
myself? I was taken to honeydew from
where I was moved to Ranburg Police
station in Johannesburg on Saturday April
19th and was released the following day,
being April 20, 2014, Easter Sunday.
Why I am sad about the whole blackmail
is that it was after my release that I got to
know that Prosper's job in South Africa is
to con and defraud new Nigerians in S.A.
He would identify strangers who have
come with money for a project and offer
to assist. Afterwards, he would call the
policemen who are also working with him
to defraud the innocent people, claiming
to have done something for them or that
they stole his money. He picked on me
because he knows I am a celebrity and
would not want to soil my name. I was
seriously embittered when I later learnt
that Prince Ekeh harbored him in the
house I left for him to stay and that he
was on the run because I vowed to take
the matter in the law court for
defamation of character. When the issue
became serious, they started begging me,
sending different set of people to beg me
but I promised them to show them the
other side of me because I have not been
able to complete my movies since then.
Prince Ekeh was even threatening to shoot
me; that why would I be telling my friends
about the incident and also queried the
policemen who gave me my passport.
Prince is an ingrate. I paid for his ticket
from Port Harcourt to Lagos and from
Lagos to South Africa to help him and his
family because his wife, Muma Gee has
been the only one assisting his career
and all he could pay me with is this cheap
blackmail. He was not even happy that my
passport was released to me. I keep
asking myself why? What does he want to
achieve? Anyway, I have told him and his
accomplice who tried to rape and
blackmail me that I am taking this up in a
reputable law court" she said

“My BØØbs Make Only A Man With Guts To Approach Me” – Cossy Orjiakor

The controversial actress and singer
revealed to the Punch: -
“Most men notice my b**bs when they
meet me for the first time. They touch
each other, arguing whether or not they
are real. It will take a man with a lot of
guts to walk up to me and approach me.
But I believe in marriage and hope to
eventually marry and have kids of my
own.”
She also talks about future plans to
collaborate with her mum: -
“I have a studio in the house and I have
been told I have a good voice. My mum
did not contribute to the scoring of the
songs on my album even though we were
supposed to work on a song together. She
works with the Immigration Service so she
has no time. But when we eventually do,
it has to be a very good song, probably a
mother and daughter song.”.
