Exclusive: Why Abia state governor’s son allegedly murders his P.A

Facts are beginning to emerge on why
Chinedu, the son of Abia state
governor, Chief T.A Orji allegedly
orchestrated and masterminded the
murder of his Personal Assistant, Mr.
John Ndubuka inside the arena of his
father’s campaign rally
An impeccable source who works closely
with the governor’s son told The City
Reporters that what led to the death of
Mr. John might not be unconnected to the
disappearance of N65m that the
governor’s son put under the deceased
care which he (the deceased) claimed was
stolen by an Aboki.
According to our source, the claim did not
go down well with Chinedu, who felt the
deceased was playing with his intelligence,
hence the decision to murder him.
Another inside source alleged that aside
the missing N65m, Mr. John’s death was
part of plan to secretly eliminate those
with serious secret information about the
governor and his son’s stolen funds to
avoid being exposed as the
administration is winding up and there
are possibilities that they may not install
the next governor.
He cited the case of one Obinna a.k.a
Pipiro another of governor T.A Orji’s close
relative, who they arrested, detained for
several months in Afara Ibeku prison and
confiscated all his properties for just
flimsy reasons of building hotel as well as
living ostentatiously, thereby drawing
unnecessary public attention to the
governor and his family to swash the tale
that the late John was a relative of the
Orji’s.
But in a swift move to save the
governor’s son from impending murder
case as well as salvage his father’s already
battered political image, the Abia state
government has attributed the incident
which led to the death of Mr. John
Ndubuka, Personal Assistant to the
governor’s son to accidental discharge
A statement signed by the Abia state
Commissioner for Information and
Strategy, Eze Chikamnayo and made
available to The City Reporters by Nnaji
Obed Asiegbu, S.A to the Governor on e-
governance and strategies after the
incident had been blown open by the
online medium, described the deceased as
the relative to the governor whose cause
of death (accidental discharge) is under
investigation by the State Command of the
Nigeria Police.
“The victim, Mr.Ndubuka was hit by a
bullet that killed him from an unknown
source while leaving the venue at the end
of a successful civic reception organized
by Ikwuano/Umuahia people for the
Governor on Saturday,” Chikamnayo said
in the statement.
He also said the event occurred after the
Governor, Chief TA Orji and other
dignitaries had left the arena, but doesn’t
say whether the governor’s son departed
the arena with the dignitaries.
He however added that the identity of the
assailant is not yet known but stated that
the matter will be thoroughly investigated
and assured that the police will get to the
root of the matter.
“The state government is on top of the
security situation in the state and will not
waiver from its responsibility of protecting
lives and property of the citizenry,” he
further said.
But our source maintained that it was all
calculated attempt to save the governor
from further embarrassment.
“Why would it be Mr. Ndubuka? If he was
assassinated by an unknown assailant like
Chikamnayo claimed, why then are they
saying it was an accidental discharge?
Would you call a bullet from an assassin
an accidental discharge? Let them
continue to deceive themselves with their
contradictory statements. Probably they
think that the police and the general
public are fools,” he queried.
Another source who described the press
statement as fairy tale, said that before 8
am on that fateful day, T.A Orji’s thugs
have already besiege the arena singing his
praises, with the presence of heavily
armed police officers. He therefore urged
the police not to allow the Abia state
government to deceive them.
